Chapter 3: Myself, my Past Self, and the Girl

Sakura and Syaoran arrived in the past—where she looked around to know it was the seabed of the Pacific Ocean.

“We’re on the seabed, Syaoran?” Sakura said in a puzzled look.

“You’re right. Tell me something about your mother, Sakura,” Syaoran replied.

“I don’t quite remember about her... but she was a model when she was a high school student as well. She got married to Dad when she was 18, and my brother was born a year later,” she answered, “I was born 12 years later. And she died from illness... when I was 3.” That was all she knew about her mother.

“Thanks... You have little momery about your mother. I got my father dead at the same age as you,” Syaoran replied.

When Syaoran and Sakura were talking about their past, they heard someone scream, “Mom! Sisters!”

“Syaoran, did you hear a scream?” Sakura asked. “Yeah, I did... This way.” Sakura and Syaoran walked toward where they heard the scream.

In few minutes’ walk, they found a big castle made of shells. Stepping into the castle, they saw a pink pearl mermaid crying, “Gyte... give Mom and Sisters back to me.”

“Huph. With the white pearl mermaid and the aqua-regina in hand, no one can stop me,” Gyte chuckled.

The white pearl mermaid said, “Sakura, run... Run and tell every mermaid you’ll meet about this.” “Sakura, I’ll give you this pearl. I hope you’ll be OK,” the mother said when Gyte took the mother and the sisters away.

“The pearl... in my house... Then they were just talking to me as a little kid?” Sakura gasped in surprise. “Then your mother was killed as soon as she was caught... But the rest of your sisters got to be still alive...” Syaoran and Sakura thought for a while.

They heard someone sing in the castle.

Blown by the rainbow wind
Heading for the cape far away
The melody I heard before the daybreak
Was a familiar song
Birds are flying to the east
The nearst pathway to the treasure island
In the paradise of seven oceans
A life begins the day after a stormy night
To pass love and care down generations
Melodies of seven oceans
I won’t forget anybody has to depart
The place someday

“Sister, Mom... I’ll go into the human world. And I’ll defeat Gyte to bring peace to the ocean,” Sakura, the pink pearl mermaid, took on a journey with the declaration.

Sakura would never forget the witness of the past. However, she couldn’t find a clue of a Card. At this time, Nadeshiko’s spirit appeard, saying, “Sakura, the Card is always beside you. Think as hard as you can.” She disappeared.

“What’s that supposed to mean? What’s it that Mom wanted to tell me?” While she was thinking a gust of wind sucked her in. “Hoeee!”

She woke up in Penguin Park. It’s already dark. “Syaoran, are you all right?” Sakura shook Syaoran awake. “I’m OK. How about you?”

“I’m OK. Thanks for helping me today, Syaoran. See you tomorrow,” Sakura parted from him waving her hand.

She had to call off her birthday party after all. On arriving home she told Kero what had happened the day.

“You went to the past with that brat, huh? Be careful, kiddo,” Kero said in a worrying voice, “We don’t know what will happen to you.”

“I’m OK—because I have this pearl and invincible magic spell,” she replied. Then he asked, “What’s with the pearl? You gotta explain.” “Actually, this pink pearl is my belonging since I was little,” Sakura began to explain, when there was a knock on the door. Sakura answered the door, where Touya said worriedly, “Here’s the dessert Dad made. You better go to bed soon.” “All right, Touya. Good night,” she closed the door.

“I wonder if the big brother knows about me,” Kero sweatdropped.

“Kero, you can eat all of the dessert. I’m going to bed,” Sakura said crowling into bed. “Yay! A pudding, my favorite!”

“That girl... Was she my sister? Where is she?” Sakura fell into asleep with tears.
