Prefacce

This fanfic is a crossover of Cardcaptor Sakura and Harry Potter, in which both CCS gang and Harry Potter gang are taking their action. Well-known plots in CCS are not mentioned in detail, but the respective profiles are connected kind of awkwardly. Furthermore, I omitted the explanation of fundamental plots in CCS, so don’t be confused. This fic might be far from excellent entertaining show. Please bear with my fic though the plots develops unnaturally.

If you don’t like anyone to ruin your impression on Cardcaptor Sakura or Harry Potter, do not read this fic. I guess it will mess your point of view.

Chapter 1: Sakura and the Mysterious Magic Book

I’m Sakura Kinomoto, a fourth grader attending Tomoeda Elementary...
Oops... that’s not true... I moved to London, a foreign city, because of my dad’s job as an archeologist. I agreed to moving overseas because I love Dad. But I had to say good-bye to many of my friends at Tomoeda Elementary in Japan, so I cried and cried. I believe I will meet them again for sure. Tomoyo said she would visit me in a few months. Yeah, I think it’s possible for her...

Touya, my big brother, said he would live with us, but currently he has a lot of things to do in his high school. I wonder if he’ll call me kaijuu as well in London? Hauuu...

Kero: “Sakura, who the heck are you talking to?”

Sakura: “To the readers of this fanfic!”

Kero: “I can’t follow you...”

Oh, anyway, it was a sudden thing that only two days after we moved in to London, an entrance permission was delivered to me from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hoeee!? School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? I was surprised to know there truly is something like magic! They use their magic with their wands. I wondered if I’ll be like those mahou shoujos I saw in animes.

And now I’ll tell you about the day I became a Cardcaptor. It was two days before the school began.

On that day, Dad worked until very late at night in his university at London, and I was unpacking Dad’s history books to put them in the bookshelves. Then I found a mysterious book with a cover on which a beast like a lion was drawn. The moment I picked it up, the lock on the book clicked unhooked.

“Hoeee!?” I screamed, but took a plunge and opened it. Inside was a deck of cards, I took the topmost card and read its name “Windy.” A glowing circle appeared around me and there was a gust of wind! All the cards blew away... but the card I was holding in my hand... I was scared. If I hadn’t read it I wouldn’t have to be in this mix-up... I guess. Immediately, a yellow stuffed toy... I mean Kerberus, the gurdian beast of the seal came out of the cover of the book...

Oh, you guys, the readers of this fic, already know what had happened to me, don’t you? Yeah, that’s how I became the Cardcaptor who captures the magic cards called the Clow Cards. Kero kind of irresponsibly named me, though I didn’t sign it. Strangely, he spoke in Osaka accent.... whatever, there’s no use of worrying about little things, right?

As soon as he named me the Cardcaptor, I had to capture a card. It was the Fly Card... uh, I guess you know the episode very well. (I hope I’m not skip it too much.) I enjoyed a night cruise in the sky of London with the Card I just captured. But someone saw me flying.

I found another Clow Card when I got back home. I sank deep in a sofa in the living room, whinning, “Exhausted... Let’s go to bed.”

“Excellent job for your first capture. I hope you can capture the other cards,” Kero said.

“I guess you know you’re pushy,” I mumbled. He asked me what I said, but I replied, “Nothing. I mean, it’s time to sleep. Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”

I climbed upstairs to my room to sleep, when he whipspered, “Psst, Sakura... This room, I sense a Clow Card. Look at the foot of the desk.”

I looked where he pointed to, “Oh, you’re right! It’s still in the card form.”

“It’s sealed,” Kero said, “Hey! It’s the Language Card!”

“Language? What does it do?”

“This card helps you understand foreign languages,” Kero explained. “You don’t have to touch it with your wand. Just carried with you, the Card helps you. You’re still new in this country, Sakura. This one helps you talk to others, but in your favorite language! In other words, English conversation sounds to you like Japanese(1). You’re lucky. Conversely, even if you talk in Japanese, the one you’re talking to hears you talk in English. In addition, if you activate it, it works on other people in the same manner. It helps your friend as well, Sakura.”

(1) Sakura and Kero are speaking Japanese.

“If you have the Sentence Card,” Kero continued, “you’ll be totally free from the language difference even when you study...”

“What does it do?”

“It helps you with written languages, so you can read sentences written in different languages. Currently you gotta study English, but once you get the Sentence Card in hand, you can write in English just like you write in Japanese without studying other languages. Conversely, you can read English like you read Japanese. It works on you just being carried with you, you don’t have to activate it. You wouldn’t need languge textbooks any more.”

“Wow... I hope I’ll find it soon,” I replied. “Hoeee! Look what time it is! I don’t want to miss the train,” I screamed and get into bed.

“Enjoy your capture. And good night,” Kero said when he crawled under the bedding, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow... when we get to Hogwarts.”

“Are you coming to Hogwarts?” I asked him in surprise.

“Yes, I am! I’m going to guard you cause I’m the guardian beast... zzz...”

Irresponsibly enough, he fell asleep when he was talking... I wondered what Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry I was bound for was like. It’s beyond my imagination... But it really happened I went to Diagon Alley through the spooky bar named Leaky Cauldron, bought the textbooks and wands! (I already got the Cardcaptor’s wand, though.) And pet, can I call Kero my pet? He said he was the gurdian beast of the seal... but it’s like a pet, anyway.

But I didn’t have the Language Card on that day since I wasn’t the Cardcaptor, yet. It would be awesome of me that I prepped everything on my own... but a kind Japanese witch lady helped me, to tell you the truth. I am truly thankful to her, but she didn’t say anything about herself so I don’t know who she was. How and when can I do something to her as a sign of appreciation? She said, “See you next time,” when she walked away. As she said, I want to see her again, cause she made me feel pretty floaty.

What’ll happen the day after tomorrow? I hope it’ll be OK. And I hope I can find the Sentence Card really soon. Aren’t there any Japanse student in the school? I’m a little nervous, but I hope I’ll make many friends.

That’s what happened just two days before I enterred the school.

The Cards I captured today

Windy controls the flow of wind.

Fly helps me fly in the air.

Language helps me understand various languages. Even though I speak Japanse, they hear me talk in their own language.
