59. Sakura, Tomoyo, and the Ball Trap

Sakura getting used to transforming the Cards never gets sleepy even if she transform a Card, said Sakura. Tomoyo said as long as she's beside Sakura, she'll be safe no matter what danger would happen. It's in the PE class, students play one-to-one bascketball game, and Syaoran and Eriol happen to be opponents. When Syaoran is about to shoot Eriol took the ball of him and scored a goal. Even though getting the ball, Syaoran is distracted by Sakura who is watching how the game goes on. Eriol whispers an advice to him not to be distracted, so he succeeds in gettiing a goal. At this time the class ends.

Sakura and Syaoran drop by Tomoyo's house after school. He is still thinking about Sakura while she is changing into one of those costume Tomoyo made. Tomoyo suggested he should tell Sakura he's in love with her provided he cares for her. Sakura coming out in the costume, at the moment he is about to confess, Sakura senses Clow Reed's aura. The gang come back to school after dark, when Kero was mad at Syaoran who knew the incident before he could know it. Syaoran is questioning himself if he does good to Sakura like Tomoyo does.

There comes a backet bascketball bouncing before their eyes in the hall, when Clow Reed's aura graws stronger. Following the ball, they enter their classroom, but they can't find it. When openning the door, Sakura sees a different room adjoining beyond the doorway. Every time they open it, they see different rooms. They decided to plunge into the adjoing room, but the door shuts up before Tomoyo walks across the doorway. With the space continuum gong strange, no matter how hard they thought, not an idea do they think of to find Tomoyo. Syaoran encourages her when she's nearly crying, and they hear Tomoyo singing a song. Realizing that they're in the control room, Sakura has Syaoran and Kero turn on every light in school, then she transforms the Shadow Card. The tranformed Card leads the gang back to the classroom where Tomoyo is stuck inside. Then Clow Reed's aura disappered, and the space continuum gets back to normal.

On their way home, Sakura talks to Tomoyo about the encouragement from Syaoran when she was about to cry. In fact, she is thanful to Syaoran who has been helping her every time she's in trouble. Unfortunately, when Syaoran is about to confess his feelings, Kero interrupted them ruining the mood.

She declares the break-off of their engagement as she desperately goes out to Tomoyo's house. Wei holds Syaoran back when he was about to follow her. Getting to Tomoyo's house, Meilin cries her heart out on Tomoyo's lap that she cannot hate Sakura because she knew Sakura was a good girl. At this time, Fujitaka walks into the room for greeting, though he has to walk back to his room because he has work to finish. Sakura enjoys reading the new year greeting cards she received from her friends; being naive as ever, she was fooled by Takashi's untrue story written in the card.

When Fujitaka has finished his work, Sakura, Touya, and Fujitaka go out to make a new year visiting to Tsukimine Shrine. Touya says Yukito will join them, but he never shows up. Then Touya goes to his house to see if he is OK. Besides, Sakura and Fujitaka happen to see Tomoyo and Sonomi in the shrine. Soon Sonomi had to leave for her company to attend the conference, and Fujitaka leaves too as he has to finish housekeeping chore. Sakura and Tomoyo stop by a fortune booth, where Eriol is working because there's no shrine maiden in the shrine. In giving them fortunes, Eriol secretly set a magic in Sakura's fortune. Tomoyo's fortune says “Daikichi” (Excellent) like ordinary fortune lucks, but Sakura's is different. It says, “Your new year's dream will show you the way to the truth.” Eriol explains to Sakura in a puzzled look that it's a special fortune.

Meanwhile, Touya stepping in Yukito's house finds his friend fade at the front door. Yukito wakes up a minute before losing consciousness in lack powers. On the other hand, Sakura and Tomoyo drop by Syaoran's apartment for new year's greeting, and Wei let them in. Sakura enjoyed the cakes shaped like a peach which were made by Syaoran.

On getting back to her room, Sakura told Kero that Yukito could not come to the shrine, when he notices Yue is nearing the critical moment of his existence. As soon as Sakura fell into asleep, the fortune she drew that day began glowing, and then the Sakura Cards glowed in response. Sakura hears someone calling her name in her dream, and as the voice guides her, she releases the key of the seal, and transforms the Dream Card into a Sakura Card. She finds herself flying above the town, but suddenly a darkness splashes out of Tsukimine Shrine covering the sun and the moon. She could see someone standing on the gate arch of the shrine, accompanied by someone with butterfly wings and a beast with wings on either sides. Kero wakes Sakura up because he worried to hear she was groaning in her dream. Like what she did in her dream, the Dream Card was already transformed. Listening Sakura about what she saw in the dream, Kero tells her it could be a prophetic dream.
