47. Sakura and the Mysterious Transfer Student

It is a few months since the Final Judgement; Ms. Mizuki is back in England for study. Sakura's summer break ended, and her new semester has begun. Sakura's class has a new transfer student from England, with the name of Eriol Hiiragizawa, who look calm like a grown-up. Sakura feels as if she had met him somewhere.

In the lunch time, when Sakura is writing to Ms. Mizuki, Eriol walks up to Sakura. He agrees with her, saying he might have met her somewhere before they were even born. Looking at them from a distance, Syoran's face is steaming with jealousy. This jealousy got the best of him, he changes his mind not to go back to Hong Kong despite all the Card being captured.

Sakura's gang sees Touya and Yukito on their way home from school, however, Touya is wearily keeping away from someone. He says his class had a tranfer student like Sakura's. All of a sudden, a girl jumps at Touya and hangs off on him. She is the transfer student he was talking about, when she gives Yukito a death glare.

No sooner had Sakura gotten home than it began raining. The Clow Book unexpectedly glows in Sakura's drawer, and then Sakura and Kero sense the Clow Reed's presence, when they hear him saying that he will cause some trouble. Most mysterious is that it is starry outside Tomoeda, while raining inside the town. Furthermore, Sakura is feeling a dubious aura around the place.

Sakura, Tomoyo, and Kero goes to Penguin Park after dark to investigate the mysteious presence, where the rain attacks Sakura in the form like a dragon. Sakura takes out her Key to the seal and enchants, but her magic will not work. No matter how many time she tries, the key does not turn into a staff. Kero asks Sakura to invite Yukito to her house the next day, because he has something to talk with Yue.

48. Sakura and the Awakened Key of Star

They have endless rain only in Tomoeda, never stopped since the day before. Sakura wants to ask Yukito to come over to her house, and talks to Toya about it, then he says he will try ask him.

Sakura has no idea about the key to the seal that did not turn into the staff, when Eriol gives her a cosmos flower to cheer her up. At the next minute, Syaoran gives him a glare of anger. Later, at the entrance of the school building, Sakura talks to Syaoran about the night before, and meanwhile, Touya and Yukito are seeing them from the hall of their high school. When Touya is about to tell something to Yukito, Nakuru shows up and interrupts their talk.

That evening, Yukito has dinner at Sakura's house with Sakura and Touya. Touya goes out for his part time job as soon as they finish their dinner. Kero flies downstairs to call Yue out of Yukito, then Yukito transforms into Yue. Keroberos (in his true form) tells Yue about the presence he felt during the battle form the night before, that he felt a strong pressure of magical power, but it felt familar to him.

Sakura, Keroberos, Yue, and Tomoyo come back to Penguin Park for a revenge. Soon, the rain was blasted at them, and the strong magical power suppresses Keroberos and Yue useless. Sakura retries to enchant her key, but it does not change its form, but she gets swallowed in a tornado of water pillar. She struggles out of breathe in water, and she found the others also swallowed likewise. The moment Sakura feels a strong frustration, a mandala glows around her—but not Clow Reed's mandala. She remembers that her new staff is made from her own power of star not the sun or the moon, and then she casts a new spell of the power of star, which successfully makes the key into the staff. No sooner had Sakura jumped out of the tornado than she tries to used the Firey Card, but it does not work. Second trouble she has to clear—she devises a new spell to transform a Clow Card into the one to rule under her power of star. The transformed Firey tangles around the tornado, and evaporates all the water that was trapping her friends. Sakura got them back safe, and she immediately falls into asleep from fatigue. Meanwhile, three suspisous figures in shadows are watching them grinning in their mouths.

49. Sakura and the Dangerous Piano

Sakura can't get up in the morning from the fatigue as she had worn out from transforming a Clow Card into the one under the power of her star. Touya and Fujitaka are very anxious about her when they leave home for school and work. But Touya is kind of catching onto what is up. After they left home, Sakura fell sound asleep and wakes up not until 3 p.m., when Tomoyo and Syaoran stop at Sakura's house on their way home. They bring Sakura the cake they made in home ec class. Since Tomoyo and Syaoran wonder why Sakura used up all her strength, Kero explains that she needs great deal of powers for the card transformation, when Tomoyo name the new card as the Sakura Card because it's under Sakura's own power.

The lunch time next day, Sakura hears the piano piece from the music room, and it's Eriol who plays it. Shortly later, Tomoyo walks into the room, praising his piano play with clap of her hands. Sakura asks the two for a favor that Tomoyo sing to Eriol's piano accompniment, and the two of them are pleased to perform the piece. While Sakura is fascinated by their music, Eriol stealthly applies his magic to the piano.

Later on the day after school, Sakura and Syaoran are alone in the classroom, when she's waiting for Tomoyo to finish her practice for chorus competition. Suddenly, they hear the crashing sound followed by Tomoyo's scream. They rush to the music room, and find the piano floating just before Tomoyo totally terrified. The piano rushes toward Tomoyo, and Sakura barely grabs her out its way. As they run out the hall, the piano follows them out the room. Syaoran uses his lightning magic, then the piano seems to be back to normal, however, when Tomoyo utters a sound the piano tries to catch up to them, as if it were drawn by her voice. Three kids are running up the staircase to the rooftop, when Sakura comes out with a good idea; she says the Song Card can be used to copy her song so the piano will be attacking the card instead. Just like she expected, the piano in a rage floats up the staircase up the rooftop, and it crashes toward the Song Card beyond the fence, only to smash on the ground in the end. Feeling a relief from the success, Sakura falls into asleep from exhaustion.

50. Sakura, Syaoran, and the Invisible Threads

Sakura wakes up early in the morning, and wonder if the mysterious things that has been happening has something to do with Clow Reed's presence she sensed. However, Kero points out that it's no good thinking about it so much as to depress herself.

In a recess, Rika treats her friends to the cookies she made. When Sakura's gang are enjoying the cookies, Rika restarts her home ec project; she has been making a teddy bear. Tomoyo told the gang the story about teddy bear's birthday. It is said that the birthday is the day when you tie a ribbon around your teddy bear's collar. Additionally, it is believed that, if you give the teddy bear to the person you love with the name after yours, you'll get the love in return.

After school, Sakura and Tomoyo are going to a craft store, and Eriol joins them, and so does Syaoran jealously. Meanwhile, Rika gives the teddy bear she just finished to Mr. Terada. He is pleased with the bear, that makes Rika happy. On the other hand, Sakura buys the toy kit in order to give Yukito the teddy bear she made. Besides, Eriol buys thread, when he says there are many uses for thread.

Later on that night, Sakura was making a teddy bear, and groans at her awkwardness that her work looks more like Kero than a bear. Then Sakura and Kero senses the Clow Reeds presense. So she calls Tomoyo and Syaoran, and goes out to the scene. All of a sudden, something possesses Syaoran, and he lost control of his sword, trying to slash Sakura in a struggle. Dodging the sword, Sakura is sure she's sensing Clow Reed's presense. Tomoyo jumps at him to stop him from attacking, but she gets pushed away and has her camcorder smashed on the ground. Struggling aginst the unseen forces, Syaoran takes his incantation card to use his water magic. The water droplets reflects the light, showing he has been pulled by the threads; Sakura transforms the Sword Card and cuts through the threads. Getting the things over, Sakura falls asleep from fatigue and relief.

Meanwhile, Eriol is chuckling in a dark room. He was the one who was maneuvering Syaoran. Together with him in the room, to the surprise, are Nakuru and Suppi, a black cat-like creature with butterfly wings. Actually, those two are the guardians created by Eriol, and he is the reicarnation of Clow Reed.
