Sakura, Tomoyo, Syaoran, and Meiling are hanging around in downtown for shopping. Meiling is jumping around the town with joy, because it is her first time out of Tomoeda since she came to Japan. Besides, Tomoyo is videotaping Sakura walking in the town.
In an amusement arcade, Kero insists he wants to play a Mole Hammering game. When Sakura tries to soothe him, he asks her to play instead of him. So Sakura stands in the middle of the stage, holds a toy hammer, and starts the game. When she was confused by the moles poking their heads around her, Meiling jumps on the stage to help her. While she was videotaping, Tomoyo sees dozens of Sakuras dressed in her battle costumes, and she is pretty fascinated until she was hit by Meiling's toy hammer.
Subsequently, Sakura's gang are seeing a love story in a movie theater. The three girls are deeply impressed with the climax, in which the hero who has come back from his long-term voyage gives the heroine a ring made of coral. However Syaoran blushes at Sakura and walks out in the hall. But there is another theater beyond the door, where he can see a similar movie on which Syaoran gives Sakura his Clow Cards. When he is stunned at the scene, the door swings open and bumps on him, so he gets back from the illusion.
The gang visit Tokyo Tower, as Meiling has wanted to be to. The moment Sakura steps into the tower, she can feel something strange, however, the gang get on the elevator up to the sight-seeing point. Strangely, no one else is seen in the sight-seeing point. More astonishingly, Touya and Yukito are working in the tower, although they're supposed to have soccer game that day. Furthermore, they are not surprised at all at the sight of Kero. All of a sudden, Sakura gets thrown off into the darkness, and she finds herself alone in the sight-seeing point. Looking outside the window, she can see her another self standing on top of a building, and besides Ms. Mizuki on the tower. She gets completely confused and tears run out of her eyes, then the other Sakura cheers her up from outside.
She gets back to her conciousness, when Syaoran has the Time Card freeze the moment to wait for Sakura to seal the Dream Card. When it is sealed, the Card floats to Syaoran. As a matter of fact, Sakura step on the Dream Card at the entrance of the tower and fainted. She was having the dream induced by the Card, which was a prophetic dream, Kero remarks.
41. Sakura, Syaoran, and the Sea of Sand
Sakura's class are playing Sleeping Beaty in the next talent show. They settle the casting with the ladder game Ms. Mizuki made. The ladder game determines that Sakura is to play the prince, and Syaoran the princess. Tomoyo voluntarily takes charge of outfits, eager to make Sakura's costume.
Practicing her lines, Sakura sees Syaoran practicing his lines up on a tree. Both of them are nervous bacause they have never played main cast like this time. At this time, Yukito comes up to them and share his snack with them. In the conversation, Yukito said he wants to see the play, then Sakura and Syaoran decide to take a morning practice.
Woken up by three alarm clocks in a row, Sakura goes down in the dining room, where Touya is waiting for her with breakfast he made. Touya is half talking about the night she was sick in bed, but he stifles the topic. As soon as she finished the breakfast she leaves home for school. When she goes past Tsukimine Shrine, a mysterious spirit follows her. Sakura meets Syaoran at the entrance hall when they has just arrived. They decided to practice outside because the weather is nice.
While they are practicing the climax, the ground around them suddenly begins swirling like a doodlebug's pit. They get on the Fly, however, no matter how fast they fly, blasts of sand keep attacking them. When a blast jumps onto the playground, the entire playground turns into a whirlpool of sand, shooting blasts of sand toward the two kids on the Fly. That is the work of the Sand Card. Dodging the attacks, Syaoran as shaken off into the whirlpool, who directs Sakura to have the Watery Card cover the sand in water. Sakura uses the Watery, and Syaoran freezes the mud flow with his Freeze Card, then Sakura manages to captured the Card, which flies and floats just between them. Sakura says the Card should belong to Syaoran because he is the one who thought up of how to capture it.
42. Sakura's Totally Dark Literary Fest
Tomoeda Elementary School holds the talent show, where Sakura's class are to perform Sleeping Beauty. Students are dressed in respective outfits for the play, but Sakura and Syaoran are waiting for Tomoyo to come with their outfits. Actually, Tomoyo has finished the outfits staying up throughout two nights, and shows up with the outfits. Having changing into the princess, Sakura looks cool, and her friends cheer. Though Syaoran looks pretty in the princess outfits, he doesn't like it. Tomoyo told him that Yukito is ready to enjoy the play, and Syaoran gets excited.
Sakura's class' play started, and all the kids perform their roles very good. Especially, Meiling is really into acting like a wacky witch, although she hated to play the villain first. Too bad, Syaoran acts like a ham because of too much attention to Yukito. On the contrary, Sakura plays like a cool actor, showing her perfect flip-flop in the battle scene.
Unfortunately, at the climax, all the kids are swallowed into the darkness. Sakura finds herself standing alone in the darkness. No matter how far she runs, she never bumps into anyone or anywhere, so she kind of feels lonely. She has to reveal two secrets in order to clear the darkness. When she names the Dark Card, the space dimension flickers, that means she cleared the first secret. A few minutes later, she wondered why she can see herself in the darkness though she can see nothing at all. But she can not find the answer. When the darkness thickens to intrude her, Sakura half breaks into tears. Sakura cheers herself up, saying “That's all right,” she emits light from inside her. That is the answer; she could see herself in the darkness because she had a light inside. On her revealing the secret, the Light Card comes out from inside Sakura in its visible form, who told her that it has resided in Sakura's heart since the seal on the Cards was broken. Furthermore, its counterpart, the Dark Card, shows up, too. Both of them want Sakura to seal them, and want her to be their master.
When Sakura seals those Cards, everything gets back to nomarl. Sakura feel so happy that jumps and hugs Syaoran, which makes their play into a mess in the end, though.
43. Sakura's Farewell to Meiling
Meiling's mother calls Meiling from Hong Kong, and told her to come back. That was her least favorite hearing from her home, as she doesn't like to part from Syaoran. On the contrary, he acts plainly as if he thought of Meiling as nothing, then Meiling gets mad at him. Wanting to act like a peacemaker, Sakura impulsively invites her to sleepover, which Meiling accepts.
That night, Meiling enjoys the cakes Fujitaka baked, in Sakura's room. Sakura tries to cheer her up saying that Syaoran has never thought she is in the way. But that is what she also understand. Actually, it is Meiling who is always worrying that she may be in the way of Syaoran. She is frustrated that she can not help him in spite of her will, because she has no magical powers.
After they turned off the light, Meiling asks Sakura about Yukito, and Sakura told her that she fell in love at a glance. Conversely, when Sakura asks Meiling about Syaoran, Meiling talks about herself. Meiling has been training martial arts with Syaoran since they were young. She didn't like him at first because he never spoke or smile, he was always serious instead. One day, when she was crying over her bird that flew away from the cage, Syaoran took off to look for the bird. Soon it started raining, and he never came back for hours, until he found the bird and brought it to her. That was the first time Meiling saw the true kindness inside him, and she fell in love with him before she knew it. At this time, Sakura senses a Clow Card on the loose.
The active Card turns out to be the Twin Card, which has cloned everything in town. The Twin Card has two separate bodies, the cardcaptor has to defeat them exactly at the same time to seal it. Sakura and Syaoran try to attack each of them, but the plan does not work. Furthermore, when they exchange the signals for synchronization, the Twin Card catches onto it and escapes. Then Sakura suggests that Syaoran and Meiling are the ones who can beat the Twin Card, because they can move together at the same time without signaling because they were through the training together since they were little kids. Like she expected, Syaoran and Meiling are jumping, back-flipping, and attacking the same time, so each part of the Twin Card ends up beaten up at the same time. Finally, Sakura seals the Card, and it floats to Syaoran and Meiling. He quietly mentioned that he has never thought Meiling was in the way, so she feels a relief.
Next week, Sakura, Tomoyo, and Syaoran are in the airport to see Meiling off, and Wei is to take her back to Hong Kong. Back in a good mood, Meiling smiles at them saying good-bye, when she leaves Japan.
