Return To The Future

This episode corresponds to the Episode 34 of CCS “Sakura, Yukito, and the Daytime Moon.” The plot of this episode is almost the same as the original version.

Summary

In the break of cheerleading club, girls are talking about the quiz tournament to be held in Reedington the next day. Chelsea is entering the event in pair with Zachary. Restarting to practice of twirling a baton, Sakura begins to think of participating the quiz tournament with Madison. Later on their way home, Sakura and the others find the notice board that announces the quiz tournament in the shopping district. The quiz tournament will be held by the city hall of Reedington, welcoming the participation of all the people to be more familiar to their own home town. Just the moment Sakura is asking Madison to take part together, Julian comes up and asks Sakura to enter with him instead.
It looked slightly awkward that Julian asked Sakura—seven years younger—to enter the tournament together all of a sudden. In CCS, Sakura asked Tomoyo to enter the tournament together, but Tomoyo said no because she would rather like videotaping her best friend than participating it (She's such a weirdo...). In Tomoyo's place Yukito decided to enter with Sakura.

Back in her house, Sakura talks to her family about the quiz tournament she is taking part in with Julian. Aiden smiles and says that she can enjoy some competition. Tori just finished sewing the outfit for Sakura so she can wear it next day.
It's quite a surprise to know that Tori makes Sakura's clothes.

Next morning, Sakura sees her friends in front of the city hall. Chelsea and Zachary are already there. Meilin is doing some exercises to warm her up. Li is annoyed by that arrogant Meilin. At that time, Julian runs to the spot with his usual smile. Rita and Nikki are there to root for their friends. When the quiz tournament begins, a staff of the city hall explains the rule; they will solve ten quizes in town and then find a carving of the local flower hidden in some places in town. Staff of the city hall give the the first question, which is to make a star with ten match sticks. Julian immediately knows the answer and takes Sakura to the booth to report the answer. In the booth is Tori working as his part time job.

Julian places the ten match sticks to form the kanji character meaning a star, which was correct. Sakura gets a stamp on the participant's card, before going up to the next quiz spot with Julian. Shortly later, Meiling comes up in the booth with Li, and she makes a wrong answer. She barks up why, when disgusted Tori says it's not correct.

Sakura and Julian runs to and fro in Reedington, making progress in quizes. Their final quiz spot is Reedington Elementary School; Maidson is waiting for them with her camcorder. The two participants meet Chelsea and Zachary who just finished all of ten quizes. In Sakura's surprise, Layla is there to present them a quiz. Their final quiz is to take a ball out of the flask even withough turning it upside down or breaking the glass. By the decision of paper-rock-scissors, Sakura is the one to answer the quiz. Sakura stares at the flask from all the direction until she gets the answer. She pulls water inside and the ball floats up to the opening, then she picks it up. That is the correct answer. Just before Sakura and Julian left the spot Layla warns Sakura in a mysterious way that she should be caful because there's a full moon. Sakura cares about what Layla said when she goes out of the school.
In CCS, there was another quiz concerning a kanji character. That scene was editted out in CC.

Following the instruction on the papaer received from Layla, Sakura and Julian come to the Penguin Park. While Julian is looking for a carving, Sakura—standing at the edge of a cliff and looking at the full moon in the daytime sky—remembers that Layla warned to be careful. Thinking over about what Layla said, she gets dizzy and almost falls off the cliff. Getting aware of it, Julian jumps to Sakura to rescue, but the two falls off the cliff.
Ooh, if it weren't for Layla's warning, Sakura wouldn't have been dizzy at the cliff.

Sakura wakes up after dark. She isn't hurt, but Julian sprained his ankle. Julian smiles and shows her the carving he found in the park. Sakura helps Julian walk back to the city hall where Tori and her friends are waiting. Just when Tori and Li decided to look for them, Sakura and Julian walks back. Tori gives each of them a mechanical pencil as the prize. Julian smiles to Sakura, saying that they got the same ones.
