The Summer House

Summary

Sakura's family is taking a trip to the summer house with Julian invited to the family trip. They are to stay in the cottage, whose owers are spending that summer overseas unlike every year, so Sakura's family is lucky to be there. On getting the cottage, Sakura is so excited to see the wooden cottage that she almost crushes Kero hiding in her bascket when she jumps onto the bed with joy. Hearing from Aiden that her grandfather lives close to their cottage, she walks with Kero over to the grandfather's place. It's the first time she visits his place though Aiden and Tori have been there when Sakura was still little.
It was Sakura's grandfather... but not great grandfather... who lived near the cottage Sakura stayed. And he lived there... not just his summer house. Furthermore, Aiden and Tori have been there in the past... when Sakura was little... does that mean when Natasha was still around? Completely different than CCS, anyway.

Sakura is surprised to see that her grandfather lives in a big white residence along with a pretty garden. The moment she steps into the garden, she is called by the old man up on the patio; where they have tea together.
The grandfather knew it was Sakura who steped into the garden. I wonder if they had met somewhere before.

That night, Sakura talks about the grandfather to her family and Julian when they are having barbecue for dinner. She said that the grandfather told her that she can visit him next day. Aiden said it's lucky that they stay very close to the grandfather.

Next morning, when she going out to the grandfather's house, Aiden gives her some cookies he baked last night for the grandfather. She joyfully runs to visit him. On arriving the house, Sakura is called by the grandfather into Natasha's bedroom. Sakura is delighted to see there're a lot of stuffed animals; her mother loved stuffed animals very much, according to the old man. He takes her outside to show the other thing that Natasha loved to do. It was tennis. Although it's her first try, Sakura soon gets the hang of it and she enjoys the game with the grandfather. He said that Sakura could be a more talented tennis player than her mother was. When they're taking a break, she brings the cookie Aiden baked for the grandfather. In conversation, he smiles eating the cookie to know that Sakura and Tori's lives are fun with their father. Up in Natasha's room, Sakura is dressed in a dress, which was the Natasha's favorite one. He insists that Sakura keep it, because he knows that Natasha would hope so. After that, Sakura spots a picture of a rainbow on the desk. He replies that the picture was painted by Natasha for the grandfather because she knew he liked ones.
Nelvana's adoption by changing the old man as Sakura's grandfather was a good idea, I thought when they were playing tennis. If he was her great grandfather, like in CCS, he should possibly be over the age 80... then how could he play tennis with the kid full of pep?

Next day, Sakura has to leave the summer house. Before leaving, she comes to see grandfather and say good-bye. In getting apart, she tells him to stand on the balcony after she leaves. After leaving, she uses the Rain Card to create a rainbow up in the sky. The grandfather standing on the balcony is surprised with his eyes widely open, when he remembers back when Natasha is a child. Back in the cottage, Sakura starts packing her belongings for leaving the summer house, feeling sure that the grandfather is happy to see the rainbow.
In CCS, when the old man saw the rainbow Sonomi appears... but the scene was editted out... just because Samantha is no relation in CC.
