Li’s Calling

Li comes back to his apartment from school when the sky is gold in the sunset. 夕暮れ時、小狼は学校からマンションに帰ってくる。
Li	I wonder what's on TV tonight. There's nothing else to do around here. And now that the Final Judgement is over. I really blew it. 今日はテレビなにがあったかな? 最後の審判も終わったし、もう他に何もないよな。あの時はヘマをした。

Li recalls the scene when Sakura was recognized as the master of the Cards. 小狼はさくらがカードの主として認められた時を思い出す。
Yue	The Final Judgement is over. I, Yue, recognize Sakura as the new master. 最後の審判を終了する。我、審判者ユエ、さくらを新たな主と認む。

Li starts training with his his sword---not exactly a hard practice---rather he's moving desperately. 小狼は剣の練習を始めた。一生懸命というよりは、むしろ、やけになった感じで。
Li	What do I aim of training any more? これ以上練習したってどうなるってんだ?
Furthermore, he remembers the scene when Sakura's staff had changed its shape, which has a star encircled at the head. さらに、さくらの杖が頭の部分に円で囲まれた星がついた新しい形に変化したときのことを思い出す。
Li	So unfair! [Scratching his hair in panic] あんまりだ! [取り乱して髪をかき乱す]

He remembers what happened at school after the Final Judgement. 最後の審判の後、学校での出来事を思い出す。
Sakura	What else did your mom say last night? Is you family glad that the Cards are safe again? お母さんは夕べ他に何か言ってた? カードがまた安全になって家族の人は喜んでた?
Li	Yeah, I guess. ああ、たぶん。
Sakura	Well, what's wrong? ねえ、どうかしたの?
Li	Nothing. Now, your're the new master. There's nothing for me to do. なんでもない。もうおまえが主なんだから、おれにできることはない。
Li walks off in the hall. 小狼は廊下を歩いていく。
Sakura	That's not true, Li. 李くん、そんなことないよ。

He's holding his own head in distress. 小狼は苦悩して頭を抱えている。
Li	It should have been me! I'm the one who's descended from Clow Reed! Uh-ughh! 本当はおれのはずだった! クロウ・リードの血を引き継いでるのはおれなんだぞ! うぅぅっ!
Li collapses onto the bed on his back. 小狼はベッドに背中から倒れこむ。
Li	I failed the test. How am I ever going to tell Mother? 審判に敗れた。母上になんて言えばいいんだ。

He recalls the scene when he confronted Yue in the Final Judgement. Li and Yue are on the roof of a temple. 最後の審判でユエと対決するときを思い出す。小狼とユエは寺の屋根の上にいる。
Li	Uhh! うっ!
Yue	You may use all of your Cards in possession. Try to defeat me. 手にしたクロウカードをすべて使い、私を倒せ。
Yue shoots hails of crystaline bullets. He tries to block them, but slips on the roof. ユエは結晶の弾丸を浴びせる。小狼は攻撃をブロックしているが、足を滑らせ、屋根を滑り落ちる。
Yue	It's no use. ムダだ。
Yue continues beating and attacking him with crystalline bullets. Li barely gets back on his feet and holds his sword in the attacking position. ユエは小狼を殴り、結晶の弾丸を浴びせる。小狼は辛うじて立ち上がり、剣を構える。
Yue	I am surprised. I thought that direct decsendent of Clow Reed would be a more worthy opponent. これは驚いた。クロウの直系の子孫ならもっと手ごたえのあるやつかと思っていたが。
Li	Time! タイム!
He freezes the moment, but Yue disappears from the sight. 小狼は時間を止めるが、ユエが視界からしえていた。
Li	Huph? Where did he go? なに? どこに行った?
Yue	Time is one of the Cards under my protection. タイムは私の配下のカードだ。
Yue was standing behind Li before he knows it. The magic of the Time Card turns back at Li who gets frozen. 小狼に気づかれず、ユエは背後に立っていた。ユエはタイムの魔法を跳ね返し、逆に小狼の動きを停止させる。
Li	Huh? はっ?
Yue	This is the end. これで終わりだ。
Li	Ahhhhhh!! うわぁぁぁ!!

Getting back from the flashback mode, Li is lying on his back on the bed in a sad face. 回想から戻り、小狼は悲しい顔でベッドの上で仰向けに寝ている。
Li	I can't believe I let whole my family down. おれのせいで、家族が衰退するなんてことに。

Next moring, Sakura comes in the classroom when Madison is already at her seat. 翌朝、知世がすでに席についているところに、さくらが教室に入っている。
Sakura	Good morning, Madison. 知世ちゃん、おはよう。
Madison	You made it on time. 間に合いましたね。
Rita	Hi, Sakura. おはよう、さくらちゃん。
Sakura	Are you coming with us tomorrow? 利佳ちゃんも明日来るの?
Rita	I wish I could. I haven't been to a museum for such a long long tiem. But my piano recital is coming up soon. Now I really cannot afford to skip another rehearsal. 残念だけど行けないの。博物館にはホントにずいぶん長い間行ってなかったんだけど、ピアノの発表会も近いの。ピアノの練習を休んでる状態でもないし。
Madison	Too bad. Looks like it's just you and me, then. 残念ですわ。ということは、さくらちゃんと私だけですね。
Sakura	I guess so. そうなるね。
Eli	The museum, huh? 博物館ですか?
Sakura	Huph? Oh, hey, Eli. ほえ? あ、エリオルくん。
Eli	That sure sounds like fun. なんだか面白そうじゃありませんか。
Meanwhile, Li comes in the classroom. ちょうどその時、小狼が教室に入ってくる。
Sakura	Yeah, we just want to check new Egyptian mummy exhibit. うん、ちょうど今度のエジプトのミーラ展を見ようと思ってたの。
Eli	Yeah, sure. Count me in. いいですね。ぼくも入れてください。
Noticeing Li walk to his seat angrily, Madison smiles. 怒った表情で堰に歩いてくる小狼に気づいた知世は微笑んでいる。
Sakura	We meet here at school and take the bus over together. じゃ、学校で待ち合わせして、一緒にバスに乗っていこうよ。
Eli	Great, I'm looking forward to it. はい、とっても楽しみです。
Sakura	See you then. それじゃ、明日ね。
The two also hears Li groaning in a angry mood. He sits down. さくらとエリオルも小狼がなんだか怒っていることに気づく。小狼は席につく。
Sakura	Are you OK, Li? 李くん、大丈夫?
Li	Yes. なんでもない。
Sakura	The museum's got a new exhibit. Wanna go? 博物館で、新しい展示があるの。李くんも行く?
Sakura shows him the leaflet. さくらは小狼にパンフレットを見せる。
Li	Huh? ん?
Sakura	It's good if you want. You should come with us. We just talked Eli into coming. OK? 興味あるといいんだけど。李くんも一緒に行こうよ。ちょうど今、エリオルくんを誘ったことなの。ね?
Sakura smiles despite that Li's groaning. うなっている小狼にさくらは微笑みかける。
Li	Yeah, whatever... あぁ、わかった...
Sakura	That's great! やったぁ!
Sakura jumps for joy. さくらは喜んで飛び上がる。

In the courtyard... Li is sitting by the pool. 校庭で、小狼は池のそばに座っている。
Li	Huhh... はぁぁ...
He can hear Sakura from behind. そのとき、後ろでさくらの声が聞こえる。
Sakura	Do you think Li's been acting kind of strange lately? なんだか最近、李くんの様子がおかしくない?
Sakura sits on a bench while Madison is walking around in front of her. Li hides himself in reaction. さくらはベンチに座り、智代がさくらの目の前を歩き回っている。小狼は反射的に姿を隠す。
Madison	Uh-huh? And he doesn't look like he doesn't like Eli much. I wonder why. He seems so nice. そうですね。柊沢くんのことがお気にめさないようですし。どうしてでしょうか? とってもいい人なのに。
Sakura	They just need to spend more time to know each other. That's why I invited Li to the museum today. もっと一緒に行動してもらってお互いに知り合うの。だから、今日、李くんを博物館に誘ったんだ。
Madison	We'll make them friends in no time. 二人ともすぐに仲良くなれますね。
Sakura	Yeah. うん。
S&M	Heh heh heh. あはは。
Eli walks behind Li who doesn't even know it. 小狼に気づかれず、エリオルは小狼の背後に立つ。
Eli	I'm not missing anything, am I? ぼくも聞きのがしはないと思いますが?
Li	Uhh! Hey, I wasn't spying on them or anything! Anyway, you shouldn't sneak up on people. なっ! お、おれはあの二人を覗いてたんじゃないからな! とにかく、こっそり人の背後にまわるのはやめろよ。
Li rushes away snatching his bag and cap. 小狼はかばんと帽子をつかんで走っていく。
Eli	You just gave me an idea. Huhh... [Chuckles] いい考えが浮かびました。ふむ... [にやり]

Li keep running in a steet hysterically. 小狼は取り乱したように走り続ける。
Li	I should just go back home! もう帰る!
When he's running in the middle of the park, Yue floats down in front of him. 公園の中を走っていると、小狼の前にユエが下りてきた。
Li	Y-Yue... ユ。ユエ...
Yue	Li Showron. Now that all the Cards has been captured. You feel that all your place in Clow Reed's dynasty is in question. 李小狼。クロウカードもすべて集まり、クロウ・リードの一族におけるお前の立場が危ういと感じているな。
Li	Sakura is the master now. さくらが主になったからな。
Yue	Yes. But your role in the history of the Clow Cards has been prolonged today as it ever was. そうだ。しかし、クロウカードの歴史におけるお前の役割は、今までと同じように、今日から延長されたのだ。
Li	What can I do? She's got the Cards. おれに何が? カードを持っているのはあいつだ。
Yue	The fate as many as in her hands now. She'll need your magic more than ever. 運命はさくらの手に、そして、数多く。さくらは今まで以上にお前の力を必要とするだろう。
Yue folds his wings to turns back in to Julian. ユエは翼をたたみ、雪兎に変身する。
Julian	What? What in the world am doing all the way out here? Oh, Li. Do you happen to have anything to eat? あれ? ぼくはこんなところで何をやってるんだろう? あ、李くん、悪いけどなにか食べるもの持ってない?

In Eli's mansion, Eli sitting on a chair talks to Spinny. エリオルの屋敷では、いすに座ったエリオルがスッピーと話をしている。
Eli	Evertything is falling into place. I didn't even expect to win her trust so easily. すべてが思った位置にはまってくれたよ。こんなに簡単にさくらさんが信用してくれるとは意外だったけどね。
Spinny	Of course, a student in Sakura's class was a briliant idea. You can use the friendship you have etalished with her to your own advantage. But what about the friend Li? さくらさんと同じクラスの生徒になるとは、まさに名案でしたね。彼女との間に気づいた友情は、あなたにとって有利に使えます。しかし、もう一人の友達李くんはどうです?
Eli	He's been sticking his nose into my business since I got here. He's made it his personal mission to keep an eye on me all the time. 私が来てからというもの、私のやることに首を突っ込んできているよ。常に私を監視するのが、自分の任務のようにふるまっている。
Spinny	Is he slowing down your progress? Ruby and I could put a spell on him for you. 計画を遅らせたりしないでしょうか? ルビーと私で彼に魔法をかけておいてもよいのですが。
Eli stands on his feet from the chair, walking to the fire place. エリオルは立ち上がり、暖炉のそばに歩いていく。
Eli	That won't be necessary, Spinner. I've been thinking... he could be very useful to me. [Chuckle] いや、その必要はないよ、スピネル。考えていたんだが... 彼は結構使える。くっくっく。

Li walks back home after dark. He checks his cell phone for messages. 小狼はあたりが暗くなってから帰ってきた。留守電が入っていないか小狼は携帯電話を調べる。
Phone	You have two new messages. 新しい伝号が2件入っています。
Yelan	Hello, Li. 小狼。
Li	Ughhh! うわぁ!
Yelan	It's your mother calling. I received your letter, and I'm glad that the Clow Cards has been sealed once again. Perhaps this is time you're thinking about returning home. I hope you'll call me soon. お母さんです。手紙読みました。再びクロウカードが封印されたということで喜んでいます。そろそろ、お前も帰国することを考えている頃と思います。すぐに電話をしてきなさい。
The second message is from Sakura. 次の伝言はさくらからだった。
Sakura	Hey, Li. We were looking for you at school today. Just wanted to remind you to bring some money for the bus tomorrow. I'm so gald that Eli and you both are both coming. We'll meet you at school at ten. What? Oh, Kero said just to wants to say hi. See you later. 李くん、学校で探したんだよ。明日、バスに乗るお金を持って来てって伝えたいだけだったの。エリオルくんと李くんが二人とも来るから嬉しいです。じゃ、学校に10時待ち合わせね。ほえ? あ、ケロちゃんがよろしくだって。じゃあね。
Li	We'll really make a good team. I don't think either about Sakura to capture all the Cards on her own. おれはあいつに協力できるかも。確かに、あいつ一人の力でカードがすべて集まったとは思えないよな。

Li remembers the day when Sakura sealed the Move Card near the library. さくらが図書館のそばでムーブのカードを捕まえたときを思い出す。
Sakura	Return to your power confined. Move Card! 汝のあるべき姿にもどれ、クロウカード!
The Card is successfully captured and the book falls in her hand. カードは無事に封印され、本もさくらの手に落ちてきた。
Sakura	I did it! And I got the book back, too. やった! 本も無事に戻ってきたよ!
She finds herself standing on the unstable bank of water, where she nearly falls into water. ふと気づくと、さくらは危うい土手のふちに立っていて、川に落ちそうになっている。
Sakura	Whoahhh! Ahhhh! ほええええ!
Li rushes down and catches her hand to rescue, but it's too late. They slide down the bank, barely when Sakura tosses the book to Madison up in the pavement. 小狼が土手を駆け下り、さくらの手をつかむが時すでに遅し。二人とも土手をすべり、間一髪、さくらは上の歩道にいるとも世に向かって本を投げる。
Sakura	Madison, catch. 知世ちゃん、これおねがい。
Madison catches the book thrown by Sakura at the moment Sakura and Li fall in the water with a splash. 知世はさくらが投げた本をキャッチし、その瞬間、さくらと小狼は水しぶきを上げて川に落ちる。
Sakura	Ohhh... はぅぅぅ...
Li	Now I know I didn't want to study with girls. だから女と勉強するのはいやだと言ったんだ。

Li collases down into bed on the back. 小狼は背中からベッドに崩れ落ちる。
Li	And I did help to reveal the Loop Card. ループを実体化させたのもおれが協力したからだ。

Li	I'm sensing a Clow Card here. [Says to Meilin] Dangerous fall something tripped to you. クロウカードの気配だ。 [苺鈴に向かって] 大丈夫か。なにかが足を引っ掛けたんだ。
Sakura and Li are looking around to find the Card. Li jumps onto a fence, and took out a lasin board. さくらと小狼は辺りを見回しカードを探す。小狼は塀に飛び上がり、羅針盤を取り出す。
Li	Force, know my plight, release the light. There! クロウカードのありかを示せ。そこか!
Sakura trips and fell, thereby she finds the Loop Card. さくらもなにかにつまずき、倒れたところでループのカードを見つける。
Madison	Where the line come from? And what is it? この線はどこから? いったい何でしょうか?
Sakura	It's the Clow Card. it's repeating everything it seams. クロウカードだ。ここでつながって、なにもかもが繰り返してるんだ。
Li	I got it! It's the Loop Card. わかった。これはループのカードだ。
Li concentrates and transforms his enchanted crystal ball into a sword, as Sakura pickes up the key. 小狼は精神を集中し、魔法の勾玉を剣に変え、その時、さくらは鍵を取り出す。
Sakura	All right! Sword! よし! ソード!
Sakura and Li slash the edges of space that the Loop Card connects at almost the same time. The Loop Cards reveals its form before falling in Sakura's hand. ループのカードがつないでいる部分をさくらと小狼はほぼ同時に切り裂く。ループのカードは姿を現し、さくらの手に落ちてくる。

Li	Maybe Yue is right. Maybe I am needed here. I can't leave Reedington now that the new kid Eli is here. ユエが言ったとおりかもしれない。まだ、おれが必要なのかも。あの転校生エリオルがいる今、おれが友枝町を去るわけにはいかない。

Eli is talking to Li sitting up on a branch of a tree. エリオルが木の枝に座っている小狼に話しかけている。
Eli	Are you hiding something or you get stuck up there? そこになにかを隠しているんですか? それとも、そこから動けなくなったとか?
Li	What do you want? なんの用だ?
Eli	Oh, nothing. Just taking a little walk. I'm looking forward to getting know you and Sakura a lot better. I've got a feeling we're all going to become close friends in the near future. What do you think, Li? なんでもありませんよ。たまたま通りかかっただけです。李君とさくらさんとはよいお友達になれそうで楽しみです。近いうちにぼくたちは、きっと親友になれますよ。李くんもそう思いませんか?
Li	Whatever. あぁ、そうだな...
Eli	You two spent a lot of time together, don't you. 李くんとさくらさんは一緒に行動することが多いですね。
Li	What's up to you? なにを言いたいんだ?
Eli	I can see that you come helping her to protect her... or is it something that she has? Watch your step Li, heh. 李くんがさくらさんを守るためにいるような... それとも、彼女が持っているなにかを守っているのか。そこ、危ないから気をつけてくださいね。ふっ。
Eli chuckles as Li got hypnotized. エリオルがにやりと笑うと小狼は催眠状態になる。

Li is still lying in the unlit dark room 小狼は依然と、電気を消したくらい部屋で横になっている。
Li	I hope my Mom will let me stay. I just don't trust that guy! ここに残ることを母上が認めてくれるといいんだが。しかし、あいつだけは信用できない!

Next day, Sakura's gang go to the museum by train. The museum is in the middle of the city surrounded by tall buildings. After having seen many exhibits, they are taking a break at a cafe in the museum. 次の日、さくらたちは電車で博物館に向かう。博物館は、高いビルに囲まれる街の中央にある。展示物をいっぱい見た後、さくらたちは博物館の喫茶室で休憩をとっている。
Sakura	Boy, it's like I've been walking around this museum all day! あぁ、一日中、博物館の中を歩き回った気がするよ。
Eli	I think we have. 同感です。
Madison	And I got all these photogenes for my social science projects on my mammoth ocassions of films. And I can start editting my film. シャッターチャンスがいっぱいありましたので、社会の自由研究のための写真をいっぱい撮ることができましたわ。これで、写真の編集を始められますわ。
Sakura	I can't believe it. I still haven't sought for a topic and it's due Monday. Maybe I can do it on strange weather patterns or things. すごいなぁ。自由研究は月曜までなのに、まだ題材も見つかってないよ。自由研究は、奇妙な天候パターンとかにしてみようかな。
Eli	That reminds me, Li, have you seen anything strange lately? 奇妙と言えば、李くん、最近奇妙なことを見たことないですか?
Li	What do you mean? どういう意味だ?
Eli	You know, unusual occurances. 普通ありえない出来事とか。
Madison	What are you talking about? Li hasn't seen anything strange, have you? どういう冗談ですの? 李くんは奇妙な出来事なんて見てないですよね?
Sakura	No, I know I'll sure have it! じゃ、面白い物見に行こうよ!
Sakura jumps on her feet, thereby Li is upset. さくらが突然立ち上がったので小狼はうろたえる。
Sakura	Why don't we go see the last exibit. 最後の展示を見に行こうよ。
Li	Nuhhh... I gotta get home. I'll see you guys later. あわわ... おれ、帰る。じゃあな。
Li turns around and starts walking to the elevator. 小狼は向きを変え、エレベータに向かって歩き出す。
Sakura	No, wait, Li, don't go! ちょっと待って。李くん、行かないでよ。
Madison keeps sitting and smiles. Eli chuckles. 知世は座ったまま微笑んでいる。エリオルはにやりと笑っている。
When Li presses the button to call the elevator cab, Sakura runs to catch up with him, while Madison and Eli are walking. エレベータを呼ぶボタンを小狼が押した時、さくらが追いついてくる。一方、知世とエリオルは歩いてきている。
Li	There's just something about that guy. あいつ (エリオル) には何かがある。
Sakura	Hey, Li. Why are you in such a hurry? ちょっと、李くん。どうしてそんなに急ぐの?
The elevator door slides open, as Li and Sakura get on. Li on the elevator presses the button to hold on for wating for the other two friends to catch up. エレベータの扉が開き、小狼とさくらは乗り込む。中に入った小狼はあと二人が乗ってくるのを、開ボタンを押して待っている。
Sakura	Come on, guys! Hurry up! 二人とも、早く!
When Madison comes a few feet to the elevator, Eli starts his magic. Then the elevator goes wrong; the door repeats open and close, until Sakura and Li are closed up. 知世がエレベータまで1メートルのところでエリオルは魔法を使い始める。エレベータの様子がおかしくなり、扉が開いたり閉じたりを繰り返し、最後にさくらと小狼を閉じ込める。
Madison presses the button several times to open the door. 知世はボタンを何度も押して扉を開こうとする。
Madison	Come on! The door won't open. ヘンですわ。ドアが開きませんわ。
Eli	Maybe it's broken down. I'll go find someone in charge. きっと故障したんですよ。係りの人を呼んできます。
Madison	Good idea, Eli. お願いします。
Eli runs off the place. As you know very well, Eli isn't going to look for someone for help, but is going to find someplace where to use his magic. エリオルは走ってその場を離れる。予想がつくように、決して助けを求めにいったのではなく、魔法が使える場所を探しにいっただけである。
Eli	Have a nice ride, you two. 二人とも、お楽しみください。
Inside the elevator, Li is trying to use the emergency phone, while Sakura is calling on her cell phone. エレベータの中では、小狼が非常用電話を、さくらが携帯電話を使って助けを呼ぼうとしている。
Li	Darn, the phone's dead. ちっ、壊れている。
Sakura	Mine's not working here, either. What do you think we should do, Li? ケータイも通じないよ。李くん、どうしたらいいと思う?
Li	Let's just wait for help to come. Madison knows we're stuck in here, so she'll sure get some help. Don't worry. They'll be here soon. 助けがくるのを待とう。おれたちが閉じ込められたと大道寺は知っているから、きっと助けを呼んでくれる。だから、心配するな。すぐに助けが来る。
Sakura	Uh-hmm. うん。
No matter how long they wait, no one comes to help them. Sakura nearly cries from worry, when Li lights with his incantation card. どんなに待っても助けがこない。心配したさくらが泣きそうになったとき、小狼がお札を使って火を灯してくれる。
Li	I'm positive that help's on its way. Don't worry, OK? 助けはきっともうすぐ来る。心配するな。
Sakura	Uh-hmm. うん。
Seeing the light, Sakura feels a little releaved. 明かりを見ているとさくらは少し落ち着いてくる。
Sakura	It could be worse... at least we're not in the dark. 暗闇じゃないから... すこしはましだね。
Suddenly, the light is blown off; the inside has turned pitch dark. That was what Eli did with his magic. He starts another magic as the elevator moves randomly. 突然、明かりが消え、エレベータの中は暗闇になる。もちろん、エリオルに仕業である。さらにエリオルが魔法を使うとエレベータは不規則に動き始める。
Sakura	Hear that? We're moving! 聞こえる? 動いているよ!
At the moment Sakura jumps on her feet in terror, the elevator cab gets slanted; Sakura slides down on the floor. Meanwhile, the wall and the floor disappears where she is sliding to. In reaction, Li tries to catch her, but by only an inch he missed. She falls down the shaft. 怖がったさくらが立ち上がると、エレベータは大きく傾き、さくらは床を滑って下りていく。それと同時に、さくらが滑る先の床と壁が消える。小狼はとっさにさくらを追いかけ捕まえようとするが、数センチの差で間に合わない。さくらはシャフトの中を落下する。
Sakura	Ahhhhh!! きゃあああ!!
Li can only look down the shaft hopelessly, until he feels himself as hopeless then he shouts: 小狼は何もできずシャフトを見下ろすだけ。自分の無力さを感じて叫ぶ。
Li	Sakuuuraaaa!! さくらぁぁ!!
At this moment, a bright light shines deep in the elevator shaft. It was Sakura floating on top of the balloon, which is the visible form of the Float Card. ちょうどその時、エレベータシャフトの奥で明るい光が輝く。それは、フロートのカードを実体化したバルーンの上に乗ったさくらだった。
Sakura	Li, it's OK. I've transformed the Float Card. 李くん、大丈夫だよ。フロートを変換したの。
Li	Huph! はっ!
Sakura	You showed me how to use it in the snow once. いつか雪の日にフロートの使い方を教えてくれたよね。
Li caresses Sakura in a relief. 小狼は安心してさくらを抱きしめる。
Li	I remember. あぁ、覚えてるよ。
