The Special Box

On Saturday, Sakura is on a bus sitting at the rearmost seat. She’s heading for Madison’s.
Sakura I can’t wait to get to Madison’s house.
Sakura thinks back of when Madison asked Sakura to come over to her house. It was in PE class.
Sakura Huh? A little problem?
Madison Yeah, I really can’t explain it right now. But something strange is going on, and I need you to come over to check it out. You drop by on Saturday?
Sakura Oh, that sounds great! I’ve never even seen your place before. Can I bring Kero, too?
Madison You bet. Tell him I’ll make his favorite cake.
Back in the present scene.
Sakura I wonder what Madison’s problem is.
Kero Mmgh... Ughh... [Pops out of bag] I can’t breathe!
Sakura Oh! [Pushing Kero inside]
The passangers on the bus are looking at Sakura.
Sakura Uh... Ah... Sorry about that. It’s nothing... heh heh... Just one of my toys.
Hmm. You can’t do that.
Kero [Pokes out of bag] No, it’s so hard to breathe in here.
Sakura You’ll be in Madison’s house soon.
Kero Yeah, we better be.
Sakura Just be patient, OK, Kero? Remember Madion’s making your favorite cake.
Kero Cake...
Passengers hearing Sakura talk look puzzled one another.

Getting off the bus, Sakura takes out a map that Madison drew, and begin walking to look for Madison’s house.
Sakura That’s weird. It should be right around here somewhere.
Kero Unh, you can’t find Madison’s house?
Huhh. [Floats up to Sakura] Here, let me see.
Mmm, I wonder where it could be.
Sakura Madison said she lived very close to the bus stop.
Kero float upward to look around from a height.
Sakura Oh, come back here, Kero.
Kero Don’t worry. Nobody’s around.
Kero looks around.
Kero Uh, dahhh!
Sakura What is it?
Kero I found Madison’s house.
Sakura Oh, great. Where?
Kero lifts Sakura up above the fence biting her collar.
Sakura Ah, what do you think you’re doiing, Kero?
Kero Take a look!
Sakura What?
Just before her eyes below is a huge mansion, that means it’s Madison’s house.
Sakura OK! Put me down right now!

Sakura turns on the door bell.
Intercom Yes, who is it?
Sakura Sakura Avalon.
Intercom Please come in. I’ll open the gate.
The gate opens automaticall that amazed Sakura.
Sakura Wow.
The path toward the porch is a big garden, that has a fountain in the middle. Sakura can’t help looking all over with amazement.
Sakura Amazing.
Madison comes out on the porch.
Madison Huff, Sakura!
Sakura Hi, Madison.
Madison Where’s Kero?
Kero [Pokes out of bag] I’m right here.
Madison Hello, there, Kero.
Well, come on in. OK?
Madison takes Sakura in the house by the hand.
Sakura Wow!
Kero Madison, your house is huge.
Housekeeper Miss Taylor.
Kero Aaah! [Hides in bag]
Sakura Miss Taylor?
Housekeeper Would you like some tea served in your room?
Madison Yes, could you make it out for three?
Housekeeper Hmm? You mean tea for three?
Madison Uh-huh.
Come on, Sakura.
Sakura sweatdrops, but Madison takes her to her room. The housekeeper looks puzzule.
Housekeeper For three...

Madison let Sakura in her room.
Sakura Wow! Your room’s incredible!
[Trots to window] What a great view!
Kero This is the biggest bedroom ever, Madison.
Madison walks to one side of the room where there’s a green partition. She picks up a remote controller.
Kero Is this part in your room, too?
Madison Yes.
Sakura What’s behind the partition?
Madison pushing a button, the partition contacts let the inside can been seen. It was a personal theater.
Sakura Oh.
Madison pushes the play button, then what is played on the screen is Sakura in a cat costume heading to capture the Thunder Card.
Sakura on VCR Fly!
Sakura Uhhh. [Colapses]
Madison Hold on. Wait until you see the next one, Sakura.
Remember the day you and Li captured the Thunder Card? I thought that this is one of my best costumes.
Kero Oh, yeah. I remember that capture.
Out of the personal theater, Sakura finds a new battle costume son the table.
Sakura Madison, is this costume for me?
Madison Yes. I finished it yesterday. What do you think?
Kero Hey, it’s really kind of cool looking, Sakura.
Sakura Oh, no, Madison. You’ve done so much to me already. You keep it.
Madison But I made this costume just for you.
Sakura Heh heh heh heh. [Nervously]
Madison, the other day, you said you had a problem?
Madison Well...
There’s knock on the door.
Kero Oops. Gotta go. [Hides inside toolbox]
Madison Come in.
Who flings the door open is Samantha, who is out of breath.
Samantha Huff, huff...
Madison Hi, Mom. You’re back early.
Sakura Hello, Ms. Taylor.
Samantha Hello, Sakura.
Sakura Thanks for having me.
Samantha I hope you didn’t have any trouble finding our house. It can be a little hard to find.
Sakura No.
Samantha Why don’t we have a tea outside? I bought some cake at a store this morning.
Sakura OK.
Kero [Looking from inside toolbox] Oh, cake.
Samantha takes the two girls out the room, when a housekeeper brings tea for three.
Samantha Let’s go.
Would you please bring the tea and cake to the garden.
Housekeeper Yes.
When everybody has got out and the door is closed, Kero jumps out of the box.
Kero Oh, cake! What about me? What about me?
Oh, uh...
Hmm... I sense something.

Sakura, Madison, and Samantha are at the table that is set in the garden by the pond. Samantha is cutting cake into pieces for the kids.
Madison That cake looks great, Mom.
Samantha It’s from that bakery down the steet. Do you like strawberries?
Sakura Yes.
Samantha Good. [Giving Sakura a piece] Your mother loved strawberries, too. She would eat everything with strawberries, espacially cakes. Her biggest weakness of all was strawberry short cake.
Madison Sounds like a little friend inside.
Sakura Heh heh heh.
Samantha Well, let’s dig in.
Sakura Thank you.
Yamm, yamm.
Madison This is great, Mom.
Sakura Wow!
Samantha So?
Sakura This cake’s the best!
Samantha Heh.
Sakura Yamm yamm.
When she eat up the piece of cake, Sakura finds Samantha looking at her as if being fascinated.
Sakura Huh?
Samantha You sure look like your mother, Sakura.
Sakura Really? I do?
Samantha Oh, yes. Your mother was quite beautiful and kind.
Samantha imagine back of Natasha smiling at her.
Natasha Samantha.
Madison Mom, what’s the matter?
Samantha Oh, I just remember something. It’s nothing, really. [Sips tea]
Now, Sakura. You’re a cheerleader?
Sakura That’s right.
Samantha I also hear that you’re very good at sports.
Sakura Yes.
Samantha Then I suppose you’re really athletic.
Sakura I’m OK, I guess.
Samantha Well, you got your looks from your mother, and definitely got your athletics skills from your father. Nathash wasn’t the most coordinated person.
In their high school days, Samantha and Natasha are walking home together.
Natasha So then what happened?
Samantha Well, then he asked me the phone number, and I told him...
Natasha trips and falls with a thud.
Samantha Huh? Where, Natasha?
[Runs to where Natasha lies] Natasha!
Natasha I’m OK, really.

When they’re skiing, Natasha losing control are sliding straight down the hill.
Natasha Ohh! Aaah!
Natasha crashes into a tree, and the snow shook off from branches falls and buries her.
Natasha I’m OK, really. Heh heh heh heh.

In PE class, on a whisle, Natasha runs to try the box vault, but a crashing sound echoes, when the classmates avert their looks.
Natasha I’m OK, really.

Natasha is up on a branch of a tree, when she tries to save a baby bird back to its nest. Samantha is warning her from the ground.
Samantha Natasha, get down from there right now!
Natasha I’m almost there. I’ll be right down.
Samantha Be careful up there, Natasha.
Natasha makes her way up on the branch and extends her arm for the nest.
Natasha Almost there.
Successfully returning the bird in the nest; she smiles.
Natasha Good. Home again.
Then the branch breaks with Natasha on it.
Natasha Ugh!
Samantha Natasha!
Natasha Aaaaaahhh!
Natasha falls down with her legs down, and it ends with a thud. Natasha finds herself on a man, who happens to be Aiden.
Aiden Are you OK?
Natasha Oh, yes. I’m sorry about that.
With a surprise, Natasha jumps on her feet and takes Aiden’s hand to help him get up.
Aiden It’s lucky for you that I was here to brake you fall. My name is Aiden.
Natasha fell in love at the sight.
Sakura And now that’s the first time parents met each other, right?
Samantha That’s right.
Sakura Well, maybe it was a good thing that my mom was such a klutz.
Samantha Why?
Sakura If my mom hadn’t climbed up that tree to save the bird, then fallen off and landed on my father, they may not have ever met. I have a very good friend that tells me “Expect the unexpected.” You never know what’s around the corner. Wouldn’t you agree?
Samantha Yes, I think you’re all right.
I have to admit, Sakura. I do miss your mother very much. It’s definitely not the same without her here. Even without her accident, prone or habits, she was truly a kind and giving person. And I have a very good feeling that you will grow up to be just like her, too.
Sakura Heh heh heh.
Samantha Would you like some more tea?
Sakura Yes.
Samantha You want some more strawberry cake, too?
At this time, a housekeeper comes up with a codeless phone.
Housekeeper Urgent call from the office.
Samantha Mmm, uh, not today.
[Picks up phone] Ms. Taylor, here. Yes. Yes. Oh? Ooh, well, then, just wait for me. Good-bye. [Hangs up]
I’m sorry, I’ll have to go to the office, now.
Madison We’ll go back up to my room, then.
Samantha I’ll be home for dinner.
Sakura Thank you for the tea and cake.
Madison and Sakura stands up, when Madison takes a piece of cake on a plate.
Madison Let’s go.
Sakura Mmm-Hmm.

Sakura and Madion are walking in the hall back to Madison’s room.
Sakura Your mom is very nice.
Madison Thanks.
I hope Kero likes this surprise we brought for him.
The moment Madison opens the door, Kero comes fly.
Kero Cake!
Sakura Unh!
Kero This is so unfair. I have to watch you eat that delicious cake while I was stuck up here! You really enjoyed the cake, didn’t you.
Sakura I’m sorry, Kero.
Kero You’re gonna make this up to me, aren’t you, Sakura?
Madison Looking for this, Kero? [Showing cake to Kero]
Saved the last piece for you.
Kero What?
I can get cake, my cake!
Sakura Thank you.
Madison He sure has a thing for cake.
Kero is enjoying the cake.
Kero Good. I was getting bored up here by myself. Oh, yeah, I think I sensed a Clow Card, too.
Sakura A Clow Card?
Madison That’s the reason why I brought you both over here.
Sakura What?
Madison shows a jewelry box to Sakura and Kero.
Madison It all started when my mon tried to open her jewelry box.
Sakura And?
Madison It seems like I’m not able to open this box any more.
Sakura Have you lost the key?
Madison No, it’s right here.
Sakura You used the key but it won’t open?
Kero It has to be a Clow Card!
Sakura Oh.
Kero It’s very faint, but I can sense the Clow Card coming from the box.
The presence of the Card can be seen by Sakura.
Sakura Yeah, you’re right.
Madison Watch this.
When Madison put the key into the keyhole, it’s sprung against into air.
Sakura Aah!
Madison Now can you see why I asked you to come over?
Kero This is definitely the work of a Clow Card.
Madison I can’t believe there is one in my house.
I asked my mom if it would be alright if I keep this jewelry box in my room. I told my mom I’d give it a try. She said if we can’t open it she’ll have to take it to the locksmith on Monday. But the Clow Card...
Sakura Don’t worry, Madison. We’ll capture this Card before she gets home from the office.

Sakura and Kero are staring at the jewelry box to figure out how to capture the Card.
Kero Mmm.
Sakura Hmm.
Kero Which Clow Card do you think will stop you from opening this box?
Sakura It doesn’t even look like a special box.
Mmm hmm.
When Sakura touches the box with her staff, she can see a force field around the box.
Kero Aah!
Sakura Oh!
Madison What happened there?
Kero Sakura.
Sakura Yeah.
Sakura did the same, and the force field appears again.
Kero I knew it. It’s the Shield Card. A kind of barrier was there just now, right?
Madison But how come? I didn’t see anything, Kero.
Kero Only the people with magical powers can see it.
Madison But how did this Card appear in my room?
Sakura Do you think that the Shield Card somehow knew Madison was my friend, Kero?
Kero Yeah, this Card is a very smart Card, and has real purposes on everything it does.
The Shield Card protects things that is precious. That’s its nature. Protecting things that are very special. The things inside this box must be very special to your mom.
Sakura So how are we going to capture the Shield Card, Kero?
Kero Well, that’s easy. What Card here up right now that will cut you anyting.
Sakura Oh, yeah! I can cut the Shield with the Sword.
Kero When you cut the Shield with the Sword the Shield will come out. Then you can seal it!
Sakura O Key of Clow, power of magic, power of light. Surrender the wand, the force ignite. Release! Sword!
The staff turns into a sword, then Sakura hold it up and flick it down. Then a magical wave cut the force field around the jewelry box, which turns into the visible form of the Shield Card.
Kero Seal it!
Sakura Right!
Shield Card, return to your power confined! Shield!
The Shield spirals into the tip of the sealing wand, and turns back into a card.
Kero You did it, Sakura!
Madison That was amazing!
Sakura Huh.
Madison Huph!
Sakura What is it?
Madison I completely forgot to get you wear this battle costume!
Sakura Hunh. Ughhh... [Colapses]
Madison is attemping to open the box.
Madison I hope this’ll open now.
Sakura Hah! It worked!
Madison Thanks for all your help.
Kero It sure is a good thing to have me along today.
Sakura Hey, can we look inside?
Madison Sure.
Inside the box is a beautiful bouquet of cherry blossoms.
Sakura Ohh.
At this time, there’s a knock on the door.
Kero Oh, no. Not now. [Hides somewhere]
Madison Come in.
Samantha Are you ready for dinner?
Oh, you got it opened.
Madison Yes.
Samantha How did you do that.
Sakura gets upset and tuen to the other way.
Madison I found a way to unlock it with Sakura’s help.
Samantha I haven’t been able to unlock it for a while now.
Samantha picks up the bouquet out of the box.
Sakura What a beautiful bouquet.
Samantha This beautiful bouquet belonged to your mother. She carried this very bouquet on her wedding day.
Sakura What?
Samantha There are cherry blossoms. They were your mother’s favorite flowers. Natasha said if she had a baby girl she would name her Sakura. Which means cherry blossoms.
Sakura Sakura?
Samantha Heh. And you are the girl, Sakura.
Sakura Hunh hmmm.
Samantha All right. Come on. Let’s have some dinner now.
Let me know if there’s something special you would like.
Sakura OK.
Samantha OK. Help me set the table.
Sakura Uh, I uh...
Samantha Hurry up, Madison.
Samantha leaves the room taking Sakura by the hand.
Madison I’ll be right there.
Kero I feel like I’ve been hiding out all day.
Madison Heh heh heh heh heh.
Madison put the bouquet in the box, instead, she takes a small stuff out of it.
Kero Hey, what do you got there, Madison?
Madison Present from Sakra.
Kero What is it?
Madison A surprise.
Kero Uh, it must be special.
Madison Yes, sure is.
Madison puts the small gift in, and locked the jewelry box.
Madison They used to belong to Sakura’s mom. My mom will give it to Sakura when she’s older.
Samantha [From the hall] Madison.
Madison Coming!
Kero Bring me back some dinner, OK?
Madison OK. And for helping me today, I’ll bring you dessert, too.
Kero Oh, yeah! You are the best, Madison! Yeah.
