In the middle of night, a guard is on patrol in the museum, meanwhile, a kid is sneaking in the courtyard.
Sakura is making a sketch of Kero who poses putting on air.
Sakura | Hmm. |
Kero | Speed it up. |
Sakura | Almost done. Just don't move. |
Kero | Uh, my tail feels like it's gonna fall off. |
Sakura | Finished! |
Kero |
Ahh. Well, let's see it already. |
Sakura | Here. |
Kero | Huh? That's supposed to be me? |
Sakura | You don't like it? |
The sketch done by Sakura is not bad, expressing Kero's cuteness.
Kero | Well, the uh... well, look, the face is weird. |
Sakura | It is? I thought it was pretty good. |
Kero | Well, maybe you should take a closer look, huh?! |
Sakura | Hmm. (Getting her face closer) |
Kero | Uhh, now. Observe my heroic physique. |
Aiden | [From downstairs] Dinner's ready! |
Sakura | Coming! |
Sakura jumps on her feet and leaves the room.
Kero | Hey, come back! You haven't captured my true self on paper yet. |
Sakura | Later, Kero. |
Sakura closes the door.
Kero | Uhhhhh! Uhh, I can't believe her. I look like a big geek. Not for long. |
On another day, Sakura is on the field trip in the museum.
Director | Welcome to the Reedington Museum's beginner drawing class. Today, you'll be drawing the sculptures in this hall or the courtyard. |
Sakura | Hey, Madison, it's so quiet in here. |
Madison | Like a library. |
Director | Now then, those of you drawing in the courtyard, follow me. |
Most of the student follow the director to the yard, but Sakura and Madison stay inside.
Sakura | Where do you want to go, Madison? |
Madison | I think I'll stay here and paint that sculpture. Do you want to hang out and draw with me? |
Sakura | Mm-hmm. |
Sakura and Madison sit in front of kind-of-complicated sculpture.
Sakura | I guess Chelsea and the others went outside. |
Madison | Are you sure you wouldn't rather go along with them? |
Sakura | Mm-hmm. Let's start. |
Madison | Yeah. Ha. |
Opening her sketchbook, she got surprised at what she finds on it.
Sakura | Huh? Aah! |
Mr. Terada runs up to Sakura.
Terada | Ah, what did we just tell them? Shh! |
Sakura | I'm sorry. |
It's that Kero revised the sketch by Sakura.
Sakura | [Reads what's written in sketchbook] What I really look like? Kero! |
Sakura has just drawn the outline of the sculpture, and looks at her drawing and the sculpture.
Sakura | Finished! Let's see yours. |
Madison has drawn perfectly and is painting.
Sakura | Amazing. Huh? |
Sakura finds Chelsea is waving her hand outside.
Sakura | Hey, Madison, do you want to go outside for a little bit? |
Madison | I think I'm going to stay and finish my painting. |
Sakura | No problem. I'll be back soon. |
Sakura jogs in the museum to look for the door to the courtyard.
Sakura | I wonder how you get out to the courtyard. |
Guard | What do you think you're doing? |
Sakura | Huh? |
Startled Sakura looks back to see the guard who is taking a kid away the art.
Guard | I saw you trying to damage that painting! |
Alex | Let me go! I wasn't gonna damage it. |
Guard | Then what were you doing? |
Alex | My dad painted that. It's his, but someone went changed it. That lady isn't supposed to be there. |
Guard | But that's crazy. |
Alex | Uhh. |
The kid runs to the painting.
Guard | Get... get back here. |
Alex | Imposter! |
The woman in the painting moves her hand.
Alex | Huh? |
Everything in the museum goes quiet, although the guard and the onlookers are obviously speaking. But the sound comes back in a few seconds.
Guard | Just calm down. Come with me, son. |
The name plate on the kid's bag falls off, when the guard takes him out.
Sakura | Huh? “The Smile” by Douglas Mills. Huh? |
Sakura picks up the name plate.
Madison | Sakura. |
Sakura | Hmm. |
Madison | It's time to meet the others now. |
Sakura | Yeah. Ahh. |
The field trip is over. The students are wating for the traffic light to change.
Madison | You say one of the pictures moved? |
Sakura | Mm-hmm. Then everything went absolutely quiet. It didn't last long, but it really freaked me out. I wonder if it was my imagination. |
Madison | Sakura, you're very sensitive to spirits or things. So tell me, do you think it's you-know-what? |
Sakura | Huh? A Clow Card! |
Madison | Mm-hmm. We should go check it out! |
Sakura | Mm-hmm. |
On that night, Sakura sneaks out the window, and goes down the tree,
Sakura | Hmmh, ahh. |
Julian | Sakura? |
Sakura | Huh? |
Julian | Uh, hey, there. |
Sakura | Julian. |
Julian | Where are you going at this hour of the night? |
Sakura | Um, uh... I just trying to get a better look at the stars. |
Julian | Well, don't forget about the moon now. |
Sakura | Ahh. |
Julian | Is Tori around? |
Sakura | Sure. He's inside. Unh. But please, don't tell him. |
Julian | Don't you worry. I didn't see a thing. |
Sakura rollerblades along the night street.
Sakura | Ahh. |
Kero | Oh, that would have been a tough one to explain. Heh. Julian's pretty cool, huh? |
Sakura | He probably thinks I'm a real weirdo. |
Kero | Aw, don't worry. You always got me. |
Sakura | Huh... |
In Madison's station wagon:
Madison | Silent? You mean it stifles sound? |
Kero | Exactly. The Silent Card can't stand noise. |
Sakura | That's why it chose the museum, because it's so quiet. |
Madison | So what are its powers? |
Sakura | This afternoon it silenced all the noise. |
Kero | Yeah, but that's not all. When it shushes people, something else happens to them. |
Sakura | Like what? |
Kero | Uh, I'm not sure. |
Sakura | But you're the Guardian Beast of the Seal! |
Kero | It doesn't speak, so I haven't had a chance to figure it out yet, OK? |
Sakura | Ohh. |
Madison | OK, Sakura. Time to get changed. |
Sakura | Great. |
Having Sakura change into a battle costume, Madison is delighted and videotapes Sakura.
Sakura | I kind of like this outfit. It's so much tamer than usual. |
Madison | That's because thieves have to be incognito. |
Sakura | Hey, I'm not going in there to steal anything. |
Madison | I know that, Sakura, but you are sneaking into a heavily-guarded museum. I just figured you should look the part. |
Kero | W-what is that? |
Madison | Oh, just the schedule of the museum guard's rounds. |
Sakura | Where'd you get that? |
Madison | Well, you see, I went back to the museum and I kind of borrowed it. |
Sakura | What?! |
Madison | According to this, the guard is due to patrol by that picture in exactly one hour. That doesn't give us a whole lot of time. |
Sakura | Right. |
Madison | I'll set the alarm to go off five minutes early just to be safe. Ready? [Setting the alarm] |
Sakura | Ready. |
Sakura, Madison, and Kero are sneak in the museum, when they hear a sound.
Sakura&Madison | Whoa! |
Sakura can see someone is sneaking downstairs.
Sakura | Who do you think that is? |
Madison | He looks suspicious. |
Kero | Almost as suspicious as us. |
Madison | What if he's trying to steal the art? |
Sakura | A real burglar?! What do we do? We can't sneak past him. |
Madison | We'll drive him away. |
Kero | Well, how're we gonna do that? |
Madison | With this. [Taking out a search light] |
Kero | Huh? |
Sakura | What? |
Sakura's gang are hiding at the foor of the sculpture at the center of the gallery, when the kid passes by.
Kero | Who goes there? |
The kid gasps and looks around.
Kero | If you know what's good for you, you'll leave right now. |
Alex | Who... who said that?! |
At the foot of the sculpture:
Kero | He's pretty brave, even for a thief. |
Sakura | That voice. |
Madison | It sounds like a child's voice. |
Kero | Time fo plan B, partner? |
Madison | OK. |
Madison irradiate the searchlight on Kero whose shadow is projected on the sculpture like of a gigantic God.
Kero | Listen well. I am the museum's God of Protection. I command you to leave at once. |
Alex | This is some kind of a joke, right? |
Sakura | He's coming this way. |
Madison | I wasn't counting on this. |
Alex | Stay right where you are. |
The moment the kid look into where Sakura's gang are hiding, Kero pops out and scares him.
Kero | Yah! |
Alex | Aah! W-whoa! |
Kero | Huh? |
The kid staggers backward and hits the pedestal of a metalic art. Kero plunges himself to catch the art falling down to him.
Kero | Ah, uhh, unh. |
Sakura | [Gasps] Huh. |
Sakura and Madison jumps out to the guy.
Madison | It was just a child. |
Sakura | Hey, it's him! |
Madison | Do you know him? |
Sakura | Sort of. |
Kero | Uhh, some help would be nice here. |
Kero is still lifting the art. After getting back the art on the pedestal, Sakura and Madison watch the kid.
Madison | I think he's waking up. |
Alex | Uhh-uhh. |
Sakura | You OK? |
Alex |
Uh? [Scare of Kero] Aah! |
Sakura | Don't be scared. It's just a stuffed teddy bear. |
Alex | But I heard it. |
Sakura | That's just an act we do. |
Kero | [In ventriloquist's dummy impression] Sorry we scared you, little boy. |
Alex | I wasn't scared. |
Kero | Good. |
Alex | Wierd-looking bear. |
Sakura | Heh heh heh heh. |
Alex | Who are you guys anyway? What are you doing here? I'm not gonna let you wreck any of the paintings, got it? |
Sakura | We wouldn't do that. |
Madison | We love the paintings as much as you do. |
Sakura | We just forgot something and came back to get it. |
Alex | Then why are you dressed like that? |
Sakura | What, this? Um, well, uh, um... |
Madison | It's her hobby. Heh. |
Sakura | Hunh. |
Alex | Whatever, as long as you're not wrecking the art. I'm outta here. |
Sakura |
Huh? Hey, wait a second, Alex! |
Alex | But how did ya know my name? |
Sakura shows him his name plate he dropped in that afternoon.
Alex | So that's where it went. |
Sakura | Alex, were you really gonna slash that picture? |
Alex | I wasn't gonna slash it! I was just gonna fix it up. |
Sakura | Huh? |
Alex | You see, my dad is Douglas Mills. He painted that picture. It's called “The Smile.” |
Madison | Your dad is Douglas Mills? I've heard of him. He's a really famous painter, but last year he... |
Alex kind of begins crying.
Alex | Ohhh. He got sick, and then he passed away. |
Sakura | Ohh. |
Alex | He painted that picture last summer on our family vacation together. It's the last paintng he ever did. He wanted to paint me there so we'd always have a memory of the trip. He worked so hard on it. Even Mom said it was her favorite. But then somebody went and painted over it. They ruined my favorite memory of him. |
Madison | Ahh. |
Sakura | That's terrible. I know exactly how you feel. I was totally upset when someone scribbled all over my latest picture. [Glares Kero] |
Kero | Huh? |
Sakura | Alex, please, let us help you. |
Alex | No, thanks. I can handle it all on my own. |
Kero | Are you kiddin'? |
Sakura | Aah! |
Kero | When some... [Muffled by Sakura] |
Alex | Huh? |
Sakura | Just throwing my voice. You see? |
Kero | (In dummy impression) Don't say that. Let's go together. |
Alex | Well, suit yourself. Just don't get in my way. |
Sakura | Hmm. |
Kero | Snotty brat. |
Madison | It's later than I thought. We've got to hurry. The guard'll be here soon. |
Sakura | Mm-hmm. |
Alex and Sakura's gang are heading for the picture taken over by the Silent Card.
Sakura | I can't use my magic in front of Alex. |
Kero | And we know we can't scare him away. |
Madison | You do your thing, and I'll distract him, OK? |
Sakura | Hmm. |
The kids face to the painting.
Madison | There's the picture. |
Kero | It's the Silent Card, all right. |
Sakura | Mm-hmm. |
Alex | This was recently painted over. It's an oil painting, so I should be able to peel it off. |
Sakura | You're pretty smart. |
Alex | I want to be an artist just like my dad used to be. |
Sakura | I'm sure you will. |
Alex | Heh heh heh heh. |
Madison | Alex, restoring an oil painting is very difficult, you know. |
Alex | Yeah. |
Madison | Maybe the museum should look after it. |
Alex | No, no one's touching it but me! |
Madison | Sure you can do it? |
Alex | I can! I'm gonna fix it myself! |
Sakura | Huh? |
Just when Sakura is about to seal the Card, the woman in the painting moves.
Madison | Not so loud, Alex. The guard will hear us. |
The woman in the picture puts her finger over her mouth.
At the next moment, they find themselves out in the courtyard.
Sakura | Huh? The courtyard. |
Alex | It happened again. Whenever I get close to that picture, I end up outside. |
Madison | That must be Silent's power. |
Kero | It just removes whoever's causing the noise. |
Sakura | Wow, I'm glad that's all it does. |
Alex | I don't believe it. I thought that if it was a ghost, I could still fix the painting during the day, but that didn't work either. |
Sakura | A ghost? Heh heh heh. You know, Alex. I think that this only happened because you raised your voice. I don't think the ghost, or whatever it is, will bother us if we stay quiet. |
Alex | So it'll be OK as long as we're quiet? |
Sakura | That's right. |
Alex | Yeah, but what if it hears us anyway? |
Sakura | Are you giving up? |
Alex | No. I know a way back in. Come on. |
Alex and Sakura's gang walks back to the painting.
Kero | Right. Now you can use your magic and blame it on the ghost. |
When Alex opens his bag, he drops his tool. The clatter echos in the gallery.
Alex | Unh? |
Sakura | Ohh. |
Madison | Oh, no. |
The woman in the picture moves.
All | Ohh. |
They walks back again to the painting. When Alex is about to fix the painting, Kero sneezes.
Kero | Ah-choo! |
Alex looks at Sakura. | |
Sakura | [Pretends] Ah-choo, ah-choo. |
Alex&Madison | Shhhh. |
The woman in the painting move again.
All | Awww. |
The kids are displaced outside.
Alex | Not again. |
Sakura | But all we did was sneeze. |
Kero | You'll never finish the incantation. |
Madison | There has got to be another way. |
The alarm beeps. | |
Madison | Unh. |
Sakura | Huh? |
Alex | I'm going back in. |
Sakura | Alex, wait! |
Madison catches Sakura on the hand, when she nearly run afrer Alex going back into the museum.
Madison | But the guard is on his way, Sakura. If we get caught, you'll never capture the Silent Card. |
Alex runs into the guard on patrol.
Alex | Ohh-ah! |
Guard | Who's there?! |
Alex | Ahh! Unh, uhh. |
Guard | Stop right there! |
Guard runs after Alex. | |
Alex | Unh! |
The guard just catches up with Alex.
Sakura | Alex got caught. |
Kero | We can't stay here. |
Madison | Let's hide. |
Sakura's gang runs to behind a sculpture.
Sakura | We've got to help him. |
Alex | Let me go! |
Guard | I remember you. |
Sakura | What'll we do? |
Alex | Unh! |
Guard | Uhh, uhh. |
Watching their shadows, Sakura thinks of an idea.
Sakura |
Ahh! I know. Shadow Card. Pass through the glass and reflect my image. Release and dispel! |
Sakura's shadow grows into the gallery, where Alex is struggling against the guard.
Alex | Uhh, uhh, uhh! |
Sakura | Let him go! |
Sakura's shadow pushes the guard down.
Guard | Whoa. |
Alex | Uhh. |
Alex runs for it. Then the guard jumps on his feet and follow him.
Guard | Wait! Stop! Uhh. |
Sakura | It worked. |
Madison | Not bad, Sakura. |
Sakura | Just one more thing. I command you to return... Huh? |
Sakura's shadow doesn't reach the painting. Madison uses her flashlight to help the shadow grow to the painting.
Madison | Here. |
Sakura |
Oh, thank you. I command you to return to your power confined. Silent Card! |
Sakura's shadow picks up the sealed Card and gets back outside.
Sakura | Ha! |
Madison | Heh heh. |
Kero | Yeah! |
Sakura and Kero poses for the video Madison is taping.
Madison | Another great capture. |
Sakura | Yeah! |
Sakura&Madison | Huh? |
The gurad return to the gallery alone, so Sakura's gang hide behind the sculpture in the courtyard.
Guard |
Where is he hiding? Oh, well. What the... |
Sakura | Oh, no. |
Madison | Ahh! |
Kero | Oh, oh. |
Guard | Uhh. Eh, ehh. Aah! This place is haunted! That's it. I'm outta here! |
Sakura&Madison | Heh heh. |
Alex walks back to Sakura.
Alex | I didn't get away with it. The guard caught me. |
Sakura | I'm not so sure. Look! |
Alex | Huh? |
What is in the painting is a long-haird girl smiling at the window, not the woman seen some minutes ago.
Alex | Ahh! Heh ha heh. |
When Alex steps forward, his cap slips down so his long hair comes out. Acrually, Alex is the girl in the painting.
Alex | Dad's picture. It's back. |
Sakura | Alex, you're really a girl! I'm sorry I kept calling you a boy. |
Alex | I am really sorry. |
Madison | You know you're a beautiful girl. |
Sakura | You sure are. |
Alex | Huh? Heh. |
When all the mission is completed, Alex parts from Sakura and Madison.
Sakura | Take care, Alex. |
Madison | Bye, Alex. |
Alex | Thanks so much for all your help with everything. I gotta say, you guys are the best. Bye! |
Alex turns around and runs.
Sakura | She did all that for the memory of her father. I'm so glad the painting's OK. |
Madison | Yeah. |
Kero | Well, I got a feeling we'll see one of her painting here one day. |
Sakura | Maybe she'll paint you. |
Madison | A masterpiece. |
Kero | Heh heh heh. You know, I would make a stunning subject for a painting. |
Sakura | I know you would, Kero. Like the Mona Lisa. |
Madison | Heh heh heh heh. |
A boy is watching them from top of the museum.
Li | There's a Clow Card nearby. |
